The relative clinical impact of sublingual immunotherapy with carbamylated monomeric allergoids on allergic respiratory symptoms
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background To assess the cumulative and allergen-specific magnitude of effect, and its relative clinical impact, of sublingual allergy immunotherapy with carbamylated monomeric allergoids for allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. Carbamylated allergoids are hypoallergenic extracts with enhanced bioavailability, consequent to a partial resistance to enzymatic degradation, providing efficient dose-tuning.

Sublingual immunotherapy with a carbamylated monomeric allergoidin cat-allergic patients suffering from rhinoconjunctivitis and/or allergic asthma. A multicenter, cross-sectional survey
Methods All patients were drawn anonymously from twenty-one practices across Germany. For this survey, a questionnaire was designed to standardize the patient interviews that were performed by the investigators. Patients were prescribed monomeric allergoid sublingual tablets for an initial up-dosing therapy and afterwards for maintenance therapy. Primary endpoints were improvement of symptoms, ...
متن کاملCarbamylated monomeric allergoids as a therapeutic option for sublingual immunotherapy of dust mite- and grass pollen-induced allergic rhinoconjunctivitis: a systematic review of published trials with a meta-analysis of treatment using Lais® tablets.
Lais® allergoid tablets contain allergens that are modified by carbamylation. Due to their modified chemical structure, they are suitable for sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) (13, 16, 17, 24). Based on their small molecule size of 12 to 40 kDa, they can be easily absorbed via the oral mucosa (1). In this review, we studied the efficacy of SLIT with carbamylated monomeric allergoid tablets in the...
متن کاملSafety of injective immunotherapy with monomeric carbamylated allergoid given to pediatric patients with allergic rhinitis with/without asthma due to house dust mite
Background The safety and efficacy of Monomeric Carbamylated Allergoid in injections have been previously reported in adult patients. The aim of this case-series was to explore its safety in a paediatric populations. Monomeric Carbamylated Allergoids are chemically modified extracts characterized by hypoallergenic activity due to allergen lysines substitution and preserved structural conformati...
متن کاملA 12‐week DBPC dose‐finding study with sublingual monomeric allergoid tablets in house dust mite‐allergic patients
BACKGROUND In sublingual immunotherapy, optimal doses are a key factor for therapeutic outcomes. The aim of this study with tablets containing carbamylated monomeric house dust mite allergoids was to determine the most effective and safe dose. METHODS In this double-blind, placebo-controlled dose-finding study, 131 patients with house dust mite-induced allergic rhinoconjunctivitis were random...
متن کاملThe Effect of Immunotherapy in Allergic Respiratory Diseases: Reappraisal of Current Knowledge
Allergic rhino-conjunctivitis and asthma are induced by sensitization to one or more allergens in susceptible individuals. Specific immunotherapy (SIT) is indicated in allergic diseases, because it modulates the immune response inducing peripheral T-cell tolerance and activation of regulatory T-cells. On this basis, SIT is considered the only therapeutic approach that can modify the natural his...
